Melanie Padgett Powers
WriterMelanie Padgett Powers is a longtime health writer and editor in the Washington, D.C., area. She was a writer/editor at the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the American Public Health Association before becoming a managing editor at the content marketing agency TMG (now Manifest) for the magazines for the Lupus Foundation of America and the National Hemophilia Foundation. Padgett Powers founded MelEdits in 2013 and has written for the American Optometric Association, Cleveland Clinic, Indiana University Health System, Society of Interventional Radiology, University of Michigan Health System and more. Beyond health, she also loves to write about education, small business and pets. Padgett Powers was a newspaper reporter for seven years in her home state of Indiana before moving to DC and focusing her career on membership associations and custom media/content marketing. She has a degree in journalism (with a news-editorial concentration) from Franklin College, Franklin, Ind.
