Dr. Marcin Wiechec
Consultant in Fetal Diagnostics and Ultrasound
at the Obstetrics and Perinatology Clinic,
University Hospital, Krakow, Poland.
Dr. Wiechec graduated in medicine from the Jagiellonian University Medical College in 1998 before specializing in OB/GYN at the Centre for Medical Exams in Lodz, Poland where he graduated with a postgraduate degree in 2007. He holds the UK Fetal Medicine Foundation’s Certificate of Competence in Invasive Procedures during pregnancy and their Certificate of Competence in 11-13+6 weeks scan.
Before being appointed to his current position as consultant in fetal diagnostics and ultrasound at the obstetrics and perinatology clinic at the University Hospital in Krakow in 2009, Dr. Wiechec spent a year as a trust doctor at the Centre of Fetal Care, Imperial College Healthcare at the Queen Charlotte’s and Chelsea Hospital in London.
He is a course director and lecturer at the Roztoczanska School of Ultrasound in Krakow and runs regular workshops on ultrasound in OB/GYN throughout Poland. Dr. Wiechec is an internationally respected lecturer and has spoken at congresses, courses and workshops in Europe, the United States and the United Arab Emirates. He is the co-author of 21 books and papers in ultrasound diagnostics, fetal medicine and endoscopy, and has run his own private medical OB/GYN practice in Krakow since 2007.
