Dr. Christian F. Weismann

Dr. Weismann is director of the breast section of the Austrian Society of Ultrasound in Medicine (ÖGUM). He is medical director of the breast cancer screening project in the city and country of Salzburg.

Borne in the General Hospital in Salzburg he came back as an attending Radiologist of the Central Radiology University Institute at the General Hospital Salzburg. He studied medicine at the University of Innsbruck from 1974 to 1980. From 1981 to 1986 Dr. Weismann went through his internship in casualty surgery, surgery, neurology, internal medicine and became resident in neurosurgery at the Christian Doppler Hospital in Salzburg.

From 1986 he first was resident in Diagnostic Radiology at the General Hospital of Salzburg and became attending radiologist of this department. Since January 2004 he is head of the Diagnostic and Interventional Breast Department at the University Institute of Diagnostic Radiology at the General Hospital Salzburg. He is part-time lecturer at the University Mozarteum in Salzburg. Dr. Weismann is specialized in breast imaging and interventional breast biopsy procedures. In 1999 his scientific work in the area of multidimensional breast ultrasound was awarded by the 3D ultrasound Foundation. In the same year he became a Honorary member of the Croatian Association of Societies for Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology. He is faculty member of the International Breast Ultrasound School (IBUS) and Board member of the International Association for Breast Ultrasound.
